Bethlehem Project History This project was originally started in 1999 by a group of ladies from Central Christian Schools of Hutchinson. The ladies wanted to have a festival that would involve a large number of students and be a way to celebrate Christmas with the community. Norman and Ellen Mast allowed their home to be used for this event during the two years that it was held in Hutchinson. They also stored the costumes and the props for the event. Norman and Ellen Mast bought their current home in Ottawa in 2001. When they moved to Ottawa, they found no one in the Hutchinson area to take over responsibility for the project. Not wanting the project to die, they brought the costumes and props with them to their new home. Finding new friends from Ottawa Bible Church that saw the potential for the Bethlehem Project, and having Ottawa Bible Church willing to be partners with the Mast’s, the project took life. In the summer of 2003, props were created, and the groundwork was set. What Does OBC Believe? _ OBC Organization Programs & Ministries Bethlehem |
